Ohio State Buckeyes foiled by Wisconsin

Ohio State had a chance to become the first team in NCAA Division I basketball history since Indiana in 1976 to remain unbeaten.

But Wisconsin, the 13th-ranked team in the nation, had other plans as it rallied from 15 points down to beat Ohio State 71-67 on Saturday.

"We knew we had a run in this," Jordan Taylor said after the game. He led the Badgers by scoring 21 of his 27 points during the second half. His eight consecutive points were part of a 15 to nothing run orchestrated by Wisconsin late in the game.

"(He) made all the difference in the world. He came down and hit those back-to-back 3s and got us right back into it, and from there you could just see we had some momentum," said Jon Leuer of Wisconsin, who scored 12 points.

The Ohio State Buckeyes were led by William Buford who notched 21 points. Jared Sullinger added 19 points and 12 boards.

Wisconsin was on fire from three-point land, nailing 12 of 24 threes in the comeback win. Taylor hit a couple of shots from beyond the arc and a key jumper to spark Wisconsin. Later, they went on a 10-point tear to clinch the win.

The boisterous capacity crowd at Kohl Center rushed to the court when the final buzzer sounded to celebrate the victory.

The Buckeyes wore "3407" patches to commemorate the second-year anniversary of Continental Connection Flight 3407 that killed all passengers and crew on board. Among those killed was the girlfriend of Kevin Kuwik, the video coordinator of Ohio State.
