“Orange is the New Black” Party After Emmy Win Of Uzo Aduba
After winning the outstanding supporting actress trophy in a drama series during the 2015 Emmy Awards, Uzo Aduba partied with the other members of the cast of “Orange is the New Black.” Aduba portrayed Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren on the series.
The members of the cast celebrated at the Chateau Marmont following the award ceremony. They danced to the tunes of "Single Ladies" of Beyonce and "Love Shack" of the B-52s. The 34-year-old actress was joined by her sister and some friends at the party where she embraced her co-star Taylor Schilling. Schilling plays the role of Piper Chapman on the series.
Dascha Polanco, Emma Myles, Diane Guerrero, Danielle Brooks and Jackie Cruz later joined the two stars on the dance floor. Polanco plays Dayanara Diaz while Myles plays Leanne Taylor. Guerrero plays Maritza Ramos and Brooks plays Tasha Jefferson. On the other hand, Cruz plays Marisol Gonzales.
While Laverne Cox, who plays Sophia Burset, did not join the cast on the dance floor, she congratulated Aduba before she left the party. Aduba appeared to be enjoying herself at the party. Her win at the Emmys was historical since she is the one of the two people to win both the comedy and drama trophies at the Emmys for the same role. “Orange is the New Black” was previously entered in the comedy category. The other person to achieve this feat was Ed Asner.
Aduba revealed to reporters during the Netflix after party that her Emmy statuette is going to be displayed on a book shelf.
