Out-of-this-World Projects Now Includes Underwater Tourism

As many people were investing in high-end submarines and luxurious yachts, an increasing interest in underwater tourism has fueling several out-of-this-world projects.

According to Bruce Jones, Triton and U.S. Submarine Inc. president, people have always been attracted and interested with what can be found underwater. The company that is headed by Jones is building the world’s first underwater resort in Fiji, the Poseidon. However, Jones is not alone in this field and he has some competition.

Dubai made an announcement that they are creating an underwater hotel named Water Discus. As stated in its proposal, it will be located at least 30 feet below the ocean in a giant disc. It will include recreational facilities and 21 rooms. The project was designed by Poland’s Deep Ocean Technology and will cost around $50 to $120 million.

With the competition among who will be built first, Jones remains confident that his project, Poseidon, will be finished first.

Poseidon will include 24 suites that are located underwater, over the water, and at beachfront locations. It will also have spa, bars and restaurants and a golf course. With 7,400 spots per year, Jones is expecting the resort to be sold out for years.
