Pacquiao — Marquez 4: Still Worth Watching?
Later this year, Pacquiao and Marquez will again shake the whole MGM Arena in Las Vegas for the fourth time around. It will be another frantic aggression and strong-willed determination of Pacqauio against the skillful and high-speed counter punches of Marquez.
But why does this quality match-up not lighting up social media sites and boxing message board? When in fact, this would have been a highly anticipated clash and fans would be excited about the possibilities?
The shortest answer is that, whatever the the fans and sycophants might say, Team Pacquiao has started a real, negative Karma recently.
First is, of course, the almost dream fight with Pacquiao and Mayweather.
Though people around the globe has been very positive about this fight coming true, Team Pacquiao has never shown the slightest intention of ever making the one fight everyone wants. No matter how many dramas and media statements that tries to pop out, nobody on their side has ever sincerely tried to sign the bout. What’s more frustrating is their coming on set with all those positive feedbacks that they wanted to have a fight, yet so snappish or unresponsive when chances of fight are shown to happen. Well, Mayweather might have some part of the blame but it’s really up to Pacquiao if he really desires this bout to be coming true.
Another factor that lessens the interest of the people was the fact that all their three matches have these scoring controversies. Whatever might be the results, people are now thinking the same possibilities about the upcoming match, that maybe it’ll be mashed up with controversies.
Lastly, is about the entire Pacquiao-Bradley fiasco. There’s always been a thought that baffles in every observer’s mind that Pacquiao should have win the fight, yet it was Bradley who somehow beat conventional logic and walked away as the victor. What happened to that match left many with disturbing negative feedbacks about the bout and created conspiracy theories. What’s more disturbing is that Pacquiao has not decided to exercise his rematch clause to Bradley which might be the key totake back his WBO welterweight belt from Bradley again.
In anyway, based on merits alone, Marquez-Pacquaio match is still a considered a quality prize fight, thus, it still needs to have a proper place and respect. No matter what happened and what will happen, it will still be a match to remember.
