The two legendary Beatles members and winners of the prestigious Recording Academy lifetime achievement award played a unique rendition of Queenie Eye, marking the first time the two musicians shared the stage in over three years.

In one of the most anticipated moments of the night, Sir Paul McCartney shared the stage with Ringo Starr at the 2014 Grammy Awards, marking a very long awaited Beatles reunion. While news that the two might perform together leaked months ago, last night’s performance marked the end of speculation as the two legends performend Queenie Eye, a song composed by McCartney for his last album entitled New.

The two musicians made history at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in front of a celebrity packed crowd. McCartney played a uniquely designed and decorated piano that drew its inspiration from the 70’s while Starr played the drums.

The two musicians weren’t present at the Grammys just to perform; they were also awarded the lifetime achievement award by Julia Roberts. McCartney also brought home two more awards: the best music film for his concert movie called “Live Kisses” and best rock song for “Cut Me Some Slack” a collbaboration effort with Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear.

Last night’s ceremony helped mark Sir Paul McCartney’s 16th Grammy award, winning 10 with the Beatles, 4 as a solo act and 2 with “Wings”.
