Paul Walker Receives An Honorary Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt
Aside from his family and friends, Paul Walker is also remembered by some people who worked with him in the past, including Ricardo Miller, the instructor who gave the late Fast and Furious star jiu-jitsu training. Miller posted a message for the late actor and provided an honorary black belt to Walker.
The two first met in 2004 and soon become friends. Miller said that the actor was sent his way by a mutual friend. He indicated that he did not immediately recognize the actor since he did not show a movie star attitude. Walker was easy-going and always brought a ready smile.
He added that Paul Walker was simple and unassuming. Although the late star came for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu lessons, the bond between the two men was beyond being a mere student and teacher, and the two soon became friends.
Miller said that Walker wanted to show Jiu-Jitsu through his movies. A number of the techniques the late actor learned during the training sessions were used on the Fast and Furious movies. Walker revealed that he wanted to become popular for both fast cars and Jiu-Jitsu.
Although Paul Walker did not earn a black belt, he wanted to learn about getting a black belt. Miller told the late actor that he was not giving out a black belt because of his celebrity status and Walker liked the idea.
Miller added that the late actor was determined in becoming a black belt. Walker said he wanted to get the black belt, even if he needed to obtain it in his coffin. Miller is rewarding Walker the black belt that the late actor wanted to obtain for a long time.
Walker died in a car crash in Southern California on November 30. The car was driven by the business advisor and friend of Paul Walker, Roger Roxas.
