Paula Deen And Her Agent Break Ties

During this Thrursday, Paula Deen and her agent have apparently broken their contract and gone their separate ways after Deen’s admittance to using several racist slurs in the past.

Her agent, Barry Weiner worked together for the better part of the last 10 years and as the Food Network star said, he has been an important part of her success, and possibly the main reason for her show “Paula’s Home Cooking” being picked up by the Food Network back in 2002.

The message hit the media through Deen’s spokeswoman via email. Elana Weiss, her spokeswoman also said the Deen and her entire family thank Mr. Weiner for all his effort over the long years of their collaboration.

The past couple of weeks have been nightmarish at the least for Deen as a legal deposition in which she stated under oath that she used the “n” word, came into public attention and ruined her public image.

Since the incident was made public, Deen’s carrier has taken blow after blow with the Food Network not renewing her contract and taking her show off the air. Her endorsement with Smithfield Foods was ended shortly after.

All Paula Deen products were taken off the shelves at most major retailers like Wal-Mart and Target, and even her upcoming book was stopped although her present cookbook hit No.1 on Amazon.
