Peyton Manning Given A Video Tribute By The Colts
A tribute was paid to Peyton Manning by the Indianapolis Colts when he returned to the Lucas Oil Stadium recently, wearing a Broncos uniform.
The team tried to thank Manning for the fourteen seasons, numerous records and a pair of Super Bowl appearances during his tenure in Indianapolis. The team played a short video montage through the video screens of the stadium prior to the game on Sunday night.
A number of the former teammates of Manning looked on as the short tribute by the Colts was unveiled before the kickoff. The group included Jeff Saturday, Edgerrin James, and Marvin Harrison. The tribute followed comments from the owner showing his disappointment and frustration that the team won only one Super Bowl. Jim Irsay also indicated that the program of the team was changed following the release of Peyton Manning.
The video played while the Broncos stepped out of the tunnel and into the field. Highlights of the Super Bowl win of the Colts over the Chicago Bears were shown on the video.
The video ended with the words “Thanks Peyton” shown over the No. 18 of the Manning. The player also thanked the crowd, which was shown on the video board of the stadium. The player did not respond to the comments of Irsay throughout the week. He also did not make any revelations on the video tribute that was given to him at the stadium.
He said that he did not know what the tribute was about after he was asked for a reaction on the pregame tribute. Peyton Manning said that the tribute will not change the pregame preparations needed for a game.
