Peyton Manning Raises $24,800 For Charity

Aside from making his third trip to the Super Bowl, Peyton Manning also raised $24,800 at the AFC Championship game. The Peyback Foundation will receive money from eight companies following a commitment that they will donate a total of $800 each time the quarterback would say the word ”Omaha.”

Manning mentioned the word a total of thirty-one times during the game on Sunday.

CEO and president of Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce David Brown said it was remarkable for them. He added the news coverage for Omaha resulted to around $10 million of advertising before Friday.

This was prior to the video created by the chamber that drew attention to its appeal along with the Omaha calls of Peyton Manning.

Among the companies that donated money were Cox Communication, ConAgra Foods, FNB Omaha, DJ’ Dugout, Union Pacific, Mutual of Omaha, CenturyLink and Omaha Steaks. Brown said the program may continue during the Super Bowl. The money is also expected to increase since more business in Omaha will join.

Each mention of Omaha by Manning was equivalent to around $150,000 of advertising according to Front Row Analytics.

The program started after the game of the Denver Broncos with the San Diego Chargers last week. Manning was able to mention the word “Omaha” forty-four times. Although no discussions were made between the city and Manning, it is expected that Manning will accept the money.

Omaha Steaks senior vice president Todd Simon said the program is beneficial to b in Omaha.

The Peyback Foundation aims to promote success among disadvantaged children. Around $1.6 million was raised by the charity of Peyton Manning and donated funds to youth groups in Louisiana, Indiana, and Tennessee.
