Pittsburgh Steelers Win Against Brock Osweiler, Denver Broncos

Brock Osweiler and the Denver Broncos had a 14-point lead at halftime against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who appeared to face an obstacle for a playoff berth.

However, Pittsburgh was able to wipe out the deficit as it achieved a come-from-behind victory over Denver, 34-27. The Steelers are still in the race for a spot in the wild-card race of the AFC. The comeback anchored on a turnover and game-winning touchdown provided Pittsburgh the opportunity to claim a berth in the playoffs with two more victories.

Reporters were curious about what happened in the locker room during halftime. But, William Gay and Will Allen said nothing special happened inside the room at the break. Gay said they simply executed their plays and not special happened in the locker room.

Brock Osweiler was picked off by Pittsburgh linebacker Ryan Shazier with 4:21 left in the game. It gave the Steelers an ideal field position within the 37-yard line of Denver. Three plays later, Pittsburgh grabbed the lead with a 23-yard touchdown pass to receiver Antonio Brown.

Coach Mike Tomlin of Pittsburgh said there main adjustment was to simply execute their game. Since most of their setbacks in the first half were self-inflicted, they had to settle down.

Brock Osweiler looked like a fit Peyton Manning in the first half. Osweiler became only the third Denver quarterback to have three touchdown passes and a single rushing touchdown in one game. He joined John Elway and Manning in the list.

Brock Osweiler was able to achieve the feat in two quarters. The first half ended with Osweiler completed 14 of 18 passes for 214 yards, including the three touchdowns and one rushing score. In the second half, the Steelers came out of the locker room with a different perspective since they knew what to do.

Cameron Heyward, defensive end of Pittsburgh, said they settled down in the second half. He said they bounced back in the second half as they started executing their plays. They played with a good amount of energy.

The cornerbacks of Pittsburgh gave the receivers of the Denver Broncos a lot of space in the first quarter. This changed in the second half as they played tighter. The first half saw Denver convert all eight first down attempts. But, the second half saw them converting only one out of eight attempts.

Brock Osweiler said they could not get their rhythm in the second half. Even as Pittsburgh was able to win a crucial game, it also gave opposing teams an idea on how to deal with them. The game on Sunday re-established its weak pass defense. The Steelers are now in control of their destiny and their remaining games appear to favor the team.

The last two games of the Pittsburgh Steelers will be against the Baltimore Ravens and the Cleveland Browns, both of which the Steelers are expected to win.
