Plane Of Harrison Ford Crash-Lands In A Golf Course
Harrison Ford was involved in an accident recently after the World War II era plane he piloted crash-landed in a golf course, according to his publicist.
Ina Treciokas revealed that the 1940s vintage plane piloted by the actor experienced engine trouble after it took off. Due to this, he was compelled to make an emergency landing. The actor is already receiving medical care at a hospital after he was “banged up” due to the emergency landing. But, the injuries were not life-threatening and the Ford is expected to recover.
Ben Ford, the son of the actor, stayed with him at the hospital. Ben tweeted that Harrison Ford is doing fine despite getting battered. Ben added that his father is the man everyone considers him to be and he is incredibly strong.
At the hospital. Dad is ok. Battered, but ok! He is every bit the man you would think he is. He is an incredibly strong man.

Assistant Chief Patrick Butler of the Los Angeles Fire Department said the pilot suffered moderate trauma following the incident but was conscious and alert. Butler did not give the name of the pilot, who was the only person on the plane.
The single-engine, two-seater 1942 military trainer flown by Ford went down at the Penmar Golf course, which is close to the Santa Monica Airport. Jens Lucking , who lives near the area, indicated that he heard the plane when it experienced engine trouble.
He said the plan was close to his house when the engine of the plane sounded strange and shut off. He added that the plane turned around after this. Officials indicated that a tree top was clipped as it attempted to glide back into the airport. The landing gear collapsed when it landed on its belly with the left wing touching the ground. The grass behind the plane also showed that the plane slid as it landed.
Ian Gregor of the Federal Aviation Administration said the plane of Harrison Ford experienced trouble as it took off. The actor was attempting to go back to the airport before it ended up on the golf course.
Tom Haines of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association indicated that Ford is a skilled pilot and is very conscious about safety. He added that the actor routinely goes through training for all of his planes.
The Santa Monica Airport has one runway and was built in 1919. The small airport is considered as the back yard of the dense beach community in the area. However, it was subject to numerous complaints due to air traffic. Homeowners in the area along with golfers have also said that some planes fly too low.
MG Aviation Inc is the registered owner of the Ryan Aeronautical ST3KR piloted by Harrison Ford, as shown on the registry of the FAA. The National Transportation Safety Board indicated that the plane did not have a flight data recorder.
The accident is not the first aviation-related incident of the actor, who is well-known for the roles he played on the Indiana Jones and Star Wars franchises. The actor was forced to make an emergency landing of a helicopter he was flying with a flight instructor in 1999. The helicopter was also owned by MG Aviation. Harrison Ford also was out for some time when "Star Wars: Episode VII" was being filmed last year.
