Powerball Jackpot Winning Tickets Sold In Missouri and Arizona
Wednesdays draw for the Powerball lottery saw one of the biggest jackpots in its history, close to 580 million dollars with a cash option of about 380 million dollars being won by two ticket holders. As of Thursday the officials at Powerball confirmed that both the winning tickets have been sold in the states of Missouri and Arizona.
The Powerball lottery game is based on choosing 5 numbers out of 59 plus an extra number, a “power ball”, out of an additional 35. And even though odds of getting a winning ticket are 1 in 175 million, Wednesdays draw saw 66 people match the original 5 numbers, but missing the power ball.
With Wednesdays jackpot being rolled over for 16 weeks and reaching quite an impressive sum, ticket sales increased to about six times the average amount, to 130.000 tickets sold every minute.
Interviewed players ranged from the very optimistic, who already have a plan and know what they will do with the money “I’ll start an internet café in the West Indies and a learning center in Georgia” and “I’ll take a long vacation” to people who give themselves few chances to win “odds are probably zero to zero”.
