Preorder Inventory Of Surface Books Sold Out

The preorder inventory of the new Surface Book of Microsoft has sold out, the company revealed. When potential buyers click on the five models of the first laptop offering of Microsoft on the website of the company, they will see a message “Email me when available.” The Windows 10 device is set to reach the hands of lucky buyers on October 26. Preorders for the laptop started on October 7.

A spokesperson from the company said they observed strong demand for the device and preorder supplies for the October 26 release were sold out. A limited number of the device will be available in stores when it is released on October 26 and online availability will be updated soon along with the ship dates, the spokesperson added.

The Surface Book is the first attempt of Microsoft in entering the computer market. The Redmond, Washington company aims to demonstrate to other PC manufacturers how the features of Windows 10 can be utilized in a laptop as well as attract potential buyers with its new offering instead of generating income from the device. When the device was launched on October 6, head of devices of Microsoft, Panos Panay, described the device as “the ultimate laptop” and it is the slimmest and most powerful PC ever manufactured.

While the device is already sold out on the website of Microsoft, consumers can still check other retailers, including Frys.com, which has two available models. The two models available on Frys.com can be shipped by October 26. Most of the models are available on the website on Amazon and buyers will receive an email on the estimated date of delivery. While the different models of the Surface Book are displayed on the website of Best Buy, it has a “coming soon” message and does not offer any preorder option. But, the Surface Pen and Surface Dock can be preordered by consumers.

The price range of the Windows 10 device is between $1,499 and $2,699. It features a 13.5-inch screen display with a 3000x2000 pixel resolution. It uses the latest generation of the Core processor of Intel and has a battery life of up to 12 hours. The front facing camera of the Surface Book allows users to authenticate their log-in through facial recognition, which uses the new Windows Hello security feature of Windows 10.
