Price Of Dell UltraSharp 5K Monitor Reduced

Although the UltraSharp 5K monitor of Dell has yet to be delivered, the company announced that it will reduce its price following the launch of a 27-inch iMac of Apple.

An initial announcement by Dell on September indicated that the price of the 5K monitor will be $2,499. However, a recent announcement indicated that the price of the monitor will be less than $2,000 when it will be delivered in December. The company did not release any statements on the reason for the change in the price tag of the 5K monitor. But the president and founder of Touch Display Research, Jennifer Colegrove, revealed the 27-inch iMac of Apple may have been the reason.

Apple is including a complete computing platform to the 27-inch iMac featuring a Retina 5K Display at a price tag of $2,499.99. The UltraSharp 5K monitor of Dell is only a monitor, and the price was reduced to make it appealing to consumers.

Even though the website of Dell still shows the old price tag of $2,499.99, the company said it will reduce the price by December. The 5K monitor of Dell features an anti-reflective/anti-smudge edge-to-edge glass offering ideal picture quality. It also comes with a pair of 16-watt built-in Harman Kardon speakers, a media card reader and six USB ports.

The monitor is compatible with numerous PCs available in the market and is ideal for movie makers and graphic designers, among others.

A 5K monitor may not be appealing for users who already have a 4K display since these can be purchased at prices as low as $700. Content designed for 4K monitors will appear the same when a 5K monitor is used.

Since the first 8K televisions are expected to be launched next year, vendors are starting to offer 5K monitors including the UltraSharp 5K monitor of Dell.
