Sales of the Lumia lineup of Nokia, including the Nokia Lumia 1020, reached its all-time high in the second quarter with at least 7.2 million units sold around the world. However, only 500,000 units were sold in the US market. Despite this, the company was able to increase its quarter-on-quarter sales by over fifteen percent in the US market.

It appears that the Windows Phone 8 OS has served its purpose despite not being able to attract many mobile developers for the moment.

Some analysts have indicated that Microsoft and Nokia should build on the features offered by mobile devices, such as the Nokia Lumia 1020. This is the main focus of consumers when they acquire smartphones. On the other hand, the Windows 8 OS does not require a fast processor since it is efficient when it comes to resources and power. It is also intuitive and responsive.

The Nokia smartphone features a 41MP camera, image stabilization and Pro Camera app. The remarkable optics, excellent image stabilization, and high resolution sensor have made a major difference in the device. The price tag of the device was considered its drawback when it comes to its competitiveness in the market. However, it appears that this is already being addressed.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 saw its price tag going down to $249 with the usual contract at Amazon. The price reduction was made by the online retailer recently. Although this is still much higher than the $150 price tag of the Samsung Galaxy S4, it is still considered a good start by some analysts.

There are still some consumers who are partial to acquiring a smartphone that allows them to take pictures spontaneously. They would prefer better image quality for the pictures that they take, and this may not be offered by a good number of smartphones in the market.

Although the 41MP camera of the Nokia Lumia 1020 may not be enough to reduce the share of the iOS and Android OS in the market, it is still considered its edge over its competitors in the market.
