Price Tag Of 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV Announced
The price tag of the 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV was released recently by the automaker.
The electric vehicle will have a base price tag of $27,495, although this can be reduced further to under $20,000 when federal tax credits are applied on the vehicle.
The reduction will be around $7,500 if the buyer of the new electric vehicle will qualify for the entire federal tax credit. This will bring down the price of the vehicle to $19,995, which makes it way much cheaper compared to the Tesla Model S.
Aside from revealing the price tag for consumers who will purchase the 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV, the company also indicated that lease deals can be offered by dealers at $199 for each month. It is expected that owners of the electric vehicle will save around $150 every month in fuel expenses.
The latest electric vehicle offering of Chevrolet can reach 60 mph in eight seconds and takes around twenty minutes to charge.
However, the 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV will not be the cheapest electric vehicle to reach the market since the Smart Electric Drive will have a price tag of $25,000 before the application of federal tax credits. The Chevrolet Spark is the basis for the latest electric vehicle from Chevrolet. The Spark features a four-cylinder 1.25-liter engine and is sold at $13,745.
The design of the electric vehicle is compatible to a number of DC fast-charging stations. The vehicle also comes with a feature that allows users to plan their routes using the charging stations as their waypoints. The 21 kWh lithium ion battery of the 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV allows the vehicle to go up to around 82 miles.
