Quentin Tarantino Puts New Project On Hold
“Django Unchained” director Quentin Tarantino reportedly put on hold his latest project after the script was leaked recently.
Reports indicated that the script for "The Hateful Eight" was leaked after the filmmaker gave it to a small number of actors. The leaked infuriated Tarantino so much that he decided he will no longer direct the movie. He indicated he may publish the screenplay instead of working on it. The director added he may revisit the project in the future.
He said he finished the first draft of the script and was not planning to shoot the movie until next winter. He gave the script to six people and it was obviously leaked. Mike Simpson, agent of Tarantino, informed the director of the leak after he received calls about it.
The filmmaker provided the script of "The Hateful Eight" to Bruce Dern, Tim Roth and Michael Madsen. Quentin Tarantino worked with the three actors in the past.
Quentin Tarantino cleared Roth of the leak. The director said one of the other actors may have allowed his agent to read the script, and the agent may have passed the information to other people. Although he has no idea on how agents work, Tarantino said "The Hateful Eight" will not be his next project. He said he will publish the screenplay, and he has ten more scripts on hand.
Last November, the filmmaker revealed to Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show” that his next movie project will be a western movie. He also said he enjoyed producing “Django” and loved westerns. He added after he learned how to make a western, he thought about making another one. Tarantino decided to make another western movie.
However, the director revealed it may be possible for him to change his mind. He said he has another script on hand, and after the leak, Quentin Tarantino may use the second script for his next project.
