Rapper Jim Jones Arrested after Brawling at Foxwoods
Rapper Jim Jones was arrested on Saturday in a fight that broke out at around 2 a.m. after a “platinum party” hosted by Sean "Diddy" Combs at the Foxwoods Resort Casino. The party was held as part of a 20th anniversary celebration for Foxwoods.
The brawl had a state police detective treated for minor injuries at a hospital and was, fortunately, released, police said.
"We Fly High" was one of Jim Jones’ 2007's top-selling rap tracks. The actor and performer was accused of resisting arrest for an alleged assault on police officer and breach of peace, state police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance said.
Paul Vance had no idea what started the brawl which resulted to five people being charged of peace disturbance and police assault.
Jones twitted that he posted $40,000 in bond and added: "This is gettin blown way out of proportion."
In October, Jones was found guilty in driving his Bentley with a suspended license in New York and was fined $200.
Also in 2009, Jones pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor for punching one of R&B star Ne-Yo's friends at a Louis Vuitton boutique.
The 35-year-old rapper, born Joseph Jones, is one of the Diplomats, which is a Harlem-based rap crew. Besides "We Fly High," his hits include "Pop Champagne." He released a new album, "Capo," in April of last year.
