Reese Witherspoon Gets Arrested For Disorderly Conduct
Reese Witherspoon was arrested recently for disorderly conduct along Peachtree Road in Atlanta.
According to Georgia State Trooper First Class J. Pyland, the Oscar-winning actress was arrested when she interfered in the arrest of James Toth, her husband. Toth, a Hollywood agent, was arrested under the charge of driving under the influence.
The state trooper indicated that he told Mrs. Witherspoon to sit inside the car and to keep quiet after she started to hang outside the window. The actress supposedly did not believe that he was a real officer.
The actress supposedly did not follow his instruction and instead she stepped out of the vehicle. The trooper gave Reese Witherspoon another warning but the actress said that her US citizenship should allow her to stand on American ground. This behavior got her arrested.
The state trooper indicated that the actress tried to resist but he was able to handcuff her since Mr. Toth was trying to calm her down. The actress asked the trooper if he knew who she was, and he responded that he does not need to know her name.
The arrest report indicated that Toth was stopped by Pyland after the agent was weaving in and out of his lane while driving along the Buckhead community. Pyland write that the cloths of Toth were disheveled and his eyes were bloodshot. The breathalyzer test also showed that he was above the legal limit, which resulted to being charged with driving under the influence.
Toth and Reese Witherspoon were taken to the city jail in Atlanta while their vehicle was impounded. They were bailed out in the morning of Saturday while the hearing was scheduled to be held on Monday.
The actress has won a number of awards in the past including the best actress award at the Oscars for playing June Carter Cash in the movie, “Walk the Line.”
For the moment, no statements were released by the representatives of Reese Witherspoon in connection to the incident.
