Reports Indicate One Direction Will Not Disband
One Direction is the world’s most popular band and reports have hinted at the possibility that they may be disbanding soon.
A good number of fans were upset when the group announced an extended hiatus in August. This announcement was further exacerbated by reports that the group was disbanding. However, it appears these reports are untrue according to a source close to the group.
The members of the group decided to take some time off the spotlight after five years. The furlough may last up to eighteen months and they are aiming to go back to their lives prior to their success. Reports have indicated that this time off may become permanent after the recording contract of the group was not renewed after they ended a tour in October.
The source said One Direction already ran its course. While the members of the group will remain friends, they are reportedly exhausted and are aiming to start their respective solo careers.
The video for the fifth single of the group, “Made in the A.M,” is the last one they will work on before they go on a hiatus. However, these reports were contrary to what the members said. Niall Horan told Entertainment Tonight that they will be coming back to make music again.
Horan said One Direction is not breaking up but they are simply taking a break to be with their family and friends as well as look back at their success in the last few years.
In the meantime, Harry Styles worked on some solo material and registered a number of songs with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers or the ASCAP.
Speculations emerged that Styles was preparing to leave the group due to the songs. The 21-year-old singer teamed up with Johnny McDaid, guitarist of Snow Patrol, and Gary Go, a dance producer. On the other hand, Louis Tomlinson is expected to have a successful 2016. He is about to become a father when his former girlfriend, Birana Jungwirth, gives birth.
He is expected to live in Los Angeles in preparation for the birth of his first child. He dated the blond in May after he split up with Eleanor Calder, his longtime girlfriend. He became close to Jungwirth, who was seend watching the UK performance of One Direction, even as he has a new girlfriend. A friend revealed that Tomlinson was helping his former flame financially and is preparing for the demands of caring for the baby.
No statements were released by a representative of One Direction on the reports.
