Ricardo Lockette Carted Off Field Following A Concussion

A blindside hit by Jeff Heath of the Dallas Cowboys sent Ricardo Lockette of the Seattle Seahawks off the field in the first half of the game between the two teams on Sunday. The team said while its wide receiver suffered a concussion, he continues to have full movement in his body.

Lockette was running with Byron Jones of the Dallas Cowboys for punt coverage before he was hit by the Dallas safety helmet-to-helmet. As Lockette lay motionless on the field, medical personnel rushed into the field to check on him. He opened his eyes and raised his right arm as he was being carted off the field. He continued to retain movement in both hands.

Heath was charged with a personal foul penalty due to the blindside block he used on Lockette. Michael Bennett and other Seattle players went to the field after the play and exchanged words with some Dallas players before they were separated by officials.

The Seattle Seahawks won the game 13 to 12. The 29-year-old Ricardo Lockette is in his fifth season in the NFL.
