Richie Sambora Leaves Bon Jovi
After a career that lasted nearly three decades, guitarist Richie Sambora split ways with his Bon Jovi band mates. Sambora left the band mid-tour this spring saying that there is no reason to talk of a break-up while adding that the reason for his departure is of a personal matter.
Rumors circulating around the band suggest that lead singer Jon Bon Jovi and Sambora disagree when it comes to the financial aspect of the way Bon Jovi works.
The tour didn’t stop after Sambora’s departure; he was replaced and the band continued to play every venue on their spring tour.
Rumors regarding the problems with the way the finances of the band were distributed seem to be true with sources saying that Sambora was earning a whopping $2 million a week with an added 20 percent of the tour profits while less known members like fill in guitarist Philip Xenidis earned just $10,000 a month.
Jon Bon Jovi confirmed that Sambora will still receive money from song royalties and a percentage of all merchandise sales.
Richie Sambora didn’t comment as of yet on the situation with his future in Bon Jovi, but focused more on his solo album “Aftermath of the Lowdown” releasing the song “Coming Back as Me”.
