Samsung Galaxy S4 Active Unveiled

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active was unveiled recently by the South Korean tech giant. The latest variation of the flagship smartphone of Samsung aims to enhance the experience of active users who aim to remain connected while travelling rugged environments.

Samsung revealed that the Active model of the smartphone offers extra water and dust protection. It means active users can bring it along when they go for a hike or a day on the beach. It is a fully sealed device that provides protection against the elements. It can reportedly remain safe even if it stays under three feet of water for thirty minutes. It also comes with a water-resistant earphone jack.

The distinctive design of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active allows users to capture notable images that were not possible with an ordinary smartphone, Samsung added.

The Active model of the S4 will feature similar features as the original model, including the five-inch screen display, quad-core 1.9GHz processor, and will use the Android 4.2.2 OS. It will also feature a 2MP camera in front and an 8MP camera at the back, which is smaller compared to the 13MP camera of the original model. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active will also feature an expandable 16GB internal storage. A micro SD memory card can be used to expand its internal storage up to 64GB.

The latest model of the SA will enter the market by summer, with the US and Swedish consumers getting the first opportunity to purchase it. It will be available in three color options, orange flare, dive blue, and urban grey.

For the moment, the pricing for the device remains uncertain although the company revealed that users will be able to handle the device during scheduled event in London on June 20. The launch of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active follows the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini by the device manufacturer from South Korea.
