Samsung Galaxy S4 Variant Offered By Google

Google revealed that it will produce their own version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 at San Francisco during the I/O Developers’ Conference.

The features of the smartphone will basically remain the same as the one offered by the South Korean manufacturer. The upcoming variant of the smartphone will also come with 4G LTE connectivity and a storage space of 16GB.

The main difference between the two versions is the Jelly Bean Nexus Android 4.2 OS, which will not come with the customized user interface that comes with the original version of the device. In addition, the Google variant of the smartphone will feature an unlocked bootloader and systems updates will be received by the users as they are released.

The unlocked Google variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be offered through the Google Play Store by June 26. The upcoming smartphone will be compatible to the networks of T-Mobile and AT&T.

Many consumers have been waiting for Google to release a new device that carries the Nexus brand. The popularity of the LG Nexus 4 last year may have made this anticipation more pronounced. The Nexus 4 had a price tag of $299 and $349 for the 8GB and 16GB models.

However, a high-end smartphone that has a pure Android interface may also be appealing to the market. Consumers who are not fond of the TouchWiz custom user interface of Samsung may find this particular unlocked variant of the smartphone rather attractive. Although it remains uncertain which features were removed from this particular smartphone variant, it will be interesting to know if the upcoming smartphone will be better than the original version of the Samsung Galaxy S4.

The original model of the Samsung Galaxy S4 received glowing reviews particularly due to its processor, 13MP camera and other features that it offers to users.
