Samsung Galaxy S6 May Feature A Screen Viewable From Three Sides
The Samsung Galaxy S6 may feature a display that can be viewed from three sides: front, right and left. A report indicated that sources with knowledge about the upcoming device said the South Korean company is expected to launch two variants of its next smartphone offering.
The two variants will reportedly feature all-metal bodies, 5.1-inch screen displays, and the latest processors of Samsung. It will reportedly be launched during the Mobile World Congress in March.
The company has encountered strong competition in the low-end and high-end smartphone markets. The market share of Apple has increased by 20 percent due to the large demand for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. During this time, the market share of Samsung was reduced from 30 percent to around 20 percent. In the low-end market, Huawei and Xiaomi have also affected the market share of the South Korean tech giant.
While the latest report confirmed an earlier story that two variants of the Samsung Galaxy S6 will be released by the company, earlier reports indicated that only one variant will feature a full-metal body since the second variant will feature the traditional plastic body.
The edge display is already featured on the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, which comes with a 5.6-inch screen display that stretches out to the right side. The right side display features numerous notifications and icons. If the latest report is true, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 will have a display that stretches to its left and right sides.
Samsung recently released invitations for an event during the Mobile World Congress on March 1. The invitation showed an image of a curve-shaped device.
Aside from the reported innovation on the screen of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6, the tech giant highlighted the camera of the 2015 Galaxy S smartphone. A post on the Samsung Tomorrow website shows the history of the smartphone camera of the company. It showed the improvements on the quality of the images it takes and since the front-facing unit has become a necessity, the company indicated that its next smartphone will feature a better camera in front.
Samsung revealed that the company carefully evaluates all aspects of their smartphone cameras by taking more than 10,000 images in all lighting conditions. The company also indicated that it used the same dedication and passion when they designed the camera for its next Galaxy S smartphone.
So far, the company has yet to release a statement in connection to the reported features of the Samsung Galaxy S6.
