San Antonio Spurs Return To The NBA Finals

Tim Duncan scored 19 points as the San Antonio Spurs beat the Oklahoma City Thunder, 112-107, in Game 6 of the Western Conference final of the NBA. The win allowed the Spurs to set up a rematch with the Miami heat in the NBA Finals.

San Antonio won the game in overtime despite missing the services of Tony Parker, who did not play in the second half due to a sore left ankle. Boris Diaw added 26 points for the Spurs. The Spurs will attempt to avenge its loss to Miami in the NBA Finals last year.

Oklahoma City was led by Russell Westbrook, who scored 34 points. On the other hand, Kevin Durant scored 31 points for the Thunder, which forced overtime after being down by 12 points in the fourth quarter.

Kawhi Leonard and Manu Ginobili added 17 points and 15 points, respectively for the San Antonio Spurs.

Last year, San Antonio lost Game 6 of the NBA Finals against Miami in overtime. It also lost Game 7 that gave the Heat its second consecutive NBA Championship. The Spurs have the best record in the NBA for this season. Duncan said it was amazing that they were able to regain their focus following their loss last year.

The fourth quarter had San Antonio leading by 12 points before Oklahoma City staged a comeback.

The Thunder was able to grab the lead at 99-97 following a quick layout by Durant with 32 seconds left in the fourth quarter. However, Ginobili answered with a three-pointer, giving San Antonio the lead, 100-99.

After Durant lost the ball, Ginobili was quickly fouled, sending him to the free throw line. He made one of two free throws before Westbrook was fouled while driving to the hoop. He made both free throws as the game went into overtime.

In overtime, the San Antonio Spurs outscored the Oklahoma City Thunder, 11-6, on their way to winning the Western Conference Final.
