Sandra Oh Is Leaving “Grey’s Anatomy”
Just as the 10th season of “Grey’s Anatomy" is about to kick off, Christina Yang, one of the show’s most popular characters played by Sandra Oh is apparently going to leave the show.
The actress said in a recent interview that the decision to leave after the end of the 10th season wasn't something she took lightly, as she underwent therapy to be able to detach from the show.
She also added that she started mentally and emotionally preparing for the departure two years ago and decided that this is her last season after consulting with her friend and show creator Shonda Rimes.
Rimes said that the 10th season is going to be very much about Cristina Yang and that while she hasn't yet began writing her exit, she will give her the exit she deserves while taking into account her character and devotion to medicine.
This isn't going to be the first time the show has lost one of the original characters with Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight leaving the show at certain points.
The actress let her co-stars know at a group read while preparing for the 200th episode. Sandra Oh also said while barely holding back the tears that her role in “Grey’s Anatomy” was the most important in her entire career.
