Sarah Hyland Obtain Restraining Order Against Matt Prokop

A temporary restraining order was obtained by Sarah Hyland against her former boyfriend Matt Prokop after she revealed that she suffered physical and verbal abuse from her fellow actor. Prolop was ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from the “Modern Family” star, her home, workplace and dog.

Attorney Lee A. Sherman revealed that the filed documents speak for themselves and that the actress was advised to refrain from issuing comments on the issue. The documents revealed that the 23-year-old actress experienced numerous instances of alleged abuse. Hyland reportedly suffered injuries to her voice after Prokop allegedly choke pinned the actress against a car and started choking her.

Sarah Hyland revealed that the abuse happened several times during her relationship with Matt Prokop. The two stars met at in a 2011 audition for “High School Musical 3: Senior Year.” They also worked together in “Geek Charming” in 2011. An unnamed source revealed the breakup in August 25.

Hyland revealed in the court filings that Prokop sent her numerous threatening text and voice mails after their breakup. Among the messages were threats of his suicide. The actress revealed that she wanted to end their relationship for a number of weeks before she asked for help from Julie Bowen. In August 16, Bowen went to the home of Hyland and when Prokop spotted her, he started to scream and tossed a lighter at Hyland. He also threatened to set the house Hyland was building driving into the garage door.

Prokop reportedly said that Hyland should suffer enough for her to kill herself. Prokop supposedly went into a rehab facility after making the statements. After Prokop left the facility, the director of the facility reportedly contacted Hyland and advised the actress to obtain a restraining order due to the mental state of the actor.

No comments were issued by the representatives of Matt Prokop, who is not facing any criminal charges.
