Scientists Discover real diamond planet “Planet Diamond”
Scientists have discovered a newly formed planet that came from a dead star, considered a real diamond. Scientists are still puzzled for this amazing discovery. They concluded that the high pressure may have caused the carbon atoms within the neutron star to crystallize and then eventually becoming a real diamond. Scientists have conducted a study to support this recent discovery.
The size of the diamond planet is five times bigger than the size of our planet, Earth. The alien planet comes from a special kind of star, known as a millisecond pulsar, before becoming a diamond. The newly discovered planet is approximately 4,000 light years away from Planet Earth. It is located in the Serpens (The Snake) Constellation.
As scientists have studied, 70% of all millisecond pulsars have companion that provides additional energy when in rapid rotation. The companion is known as the white dwarf, a dying star. Throughout the years, scientists were able to locate 180 millisecond pulsars in our widely expanse Universe. It was only in 1992 when a planet was discovered to be the only one orbiting in that system. Matthew Bailes, a lead scientist from the Swinburne University in Melbourne, discovered the millisecond pulsar in December 2009. Since then, he paved way for more studies and discoveries for the said heavenly body.
