Seattle Seahawks Dominate Denver Broncos At Super Bowl XLVIII

The first snap proved to be an omen for Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos as the Seattle Seahawks dominated Super Bowl XLVIII. The ball sailed past Manning and ended up with the fastest score in the history of the Super Bowl. He game ended with Seattle scoring a 43-8 victory over Denver in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The second half also started in a similar fashion as Percy Harvin of Seattle scored twelve seconds into the game.

The twelfth man brought the energy level of the Seahawks to its highest level at the MetLife Stadium. The 25-year-old Harvin, who played only two games in the entire season, returned the 87-yard kickoff for a touchdown. It gave Seattle a 29-0 lead over Denver at the start of the second half.

The Seattle Seahawks increased their lead to 36-0 during the third quarter as wideout Jermaine Kearse scored a 23-yard touchdown. However, talks of a first shutout in the history of the Super Bowl were doused by the 14-yeard touchdown of Demaryius Thomas.

The defense of Seattle shut down the top-ranked offense in the NFL even as the team was unstoppable in offense. The fifth touchdown of Seattle came courtesy of Doug Baldwin in the fourth quarter.

The Seahawks become the second professional team based in Seattle to win titles after the Seattle Supersonics won the NBA title in 1979. Two passes of Peyton Manning were intercepted by Seattle, which had the biggest first half shutout lead in the history of the Super Bowl.

Denver continued to struggle in the second half with Thomas fumbling at the 21 of Seattle, which ended a drive in the third quarter. The only low point in the game for Seattle was when Richard Sherman was brought out of the game due to an ankle injury.

Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks finished with 18 of 25 for a total of 206 yards with a pair of two touchdowns.
