Following his first win, the Colombian driver moved to NASCAR. The result was up in the air in the final fifteen laps of the race as Montoya traded places with Power and Scott Dixon for the top three spots in the race. Power came in second and Charlie Kimball finished in third place. Dixon ended up in fourth placed followed by Graham Rahal at fifth place.

Power was in the lead following a number of pits stops with thirty laps to go. But, he had to spend a good amount of time in front under caution following an accident with twenty-five laps to go. An extended amount of time was needed to clean up the accident.
