Seth Meyers Will Host The 2014 Emmy Awards
Funnyman and Late Night host Seth Meyers has been chosen to host the 2014 edition of the Emmy Awards that will be held in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theater on the 25th of August and will air live on NBC. Meyers, who made the transition from Saturday Night Live to Late Night host just two months after Jimmy Fallon replaced Jay Leno on the Tonight Show seems to be unstoppable career wise.
The news was somewhat expected after Meyers made himself very blatantly available when hosting the Golden Globes last January. NBC exec Paul Telgedy was confident in the success of the 66th edition of the Emmy's due to Meyers' talent, charm and experience in front of a live audience. He also praised Meyers for his comedic talent both as a writer and in front of the camera. The show will be executive produced by Don Mischer.
Meyers is following in the footsteps of other major entertainers like Conan O’Brien, David Letterman or Jimmy Fallon who all hosted the Emmy’s at some point in their career.
Meyers, 40, will also have no problem entertaining and amusing the audience as he spent 13 years on Saturday Night Live, eight of which he was head writer for the show.
