Singer Mindy McCready Still Struggling with Drugs, Hides Son in the Closet

David Rahbany, chief deputy of U.S. Marshal in Eastern Arkansas revealed that singer Mindy McCready together with his 5-year-old son were hiding in the closet in their home in Heber Springs, Arkansas last Saturday. The 5-year-old boy, known as Zander McCready is now under the custody of Arkansas Division of Children and Family Services.

Mindy McCready made popular hits in 1996 with the debut album "10,000 Angels" and the chart-topping country hit "Guys Do It All the Time." Likewise, Mindy has been a part of the 2009 reality TV show “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew”. Mindy has been struggling on drug addiction and custody of her son.

Last month, Mindy McCready took Zander from her mother’s home in Florida and requested the courts to restore the custody of Zander to her. However on Thursday, a Florida judge issued an emergency “pickup order” instructing law enforcements to recall the 5-year-old boy.

Rahbany added that Zander McCready appears to be in good condition when he was found in the closet with his mother. Officials are now settings arrangements including appointing the child’s legal guardian, his grandmother in Florida.

According to McCready's mother and stepfather they are relieved of the anxiety caused by Mindy and they feel sorry for Zander who is now currently traumatized.

Likewise according to Rahbany, Mindy McCready was not charged with any crime for the incident, but possible charges may exist in the future.
