Sixth Annual New York Beer Week Begins

New York is world renowned for its important bar and cocktail culture and the diversity of quality drinks, both local and imported. During the city’s long bar history patrons largely preferred wines or stronger beverages. With a huge resurgence of ale’s in the last two decades, a whole new series of bars and craft breweries have appeared in the five boroughs.

To celebrate this beer renaissance New York City Brewers Guild decided to host the sixth annual Beer Week. Starting on the 21st of February and lasting until the 2nd of March, a large number of venues across the city will be hosting differing events and tastings with locally brewed beers as well as interesting imports.

While the most popular event will be a “tap takeover”, where a single brewery will host a number of its ale’s this won’t be the only type of event.
