“Star Trek Into Darkness” Gets Thumbs Up From Critics
With a lifespan that exceeds four decades, the “Star Trek” franchise is preparing to launch the latest movie “Star Trek Into Darkness” this Thursday and it seems both the large fan base and the critics are impressed for now.
The first movie of the new series was a success both financially and when it comes to the way it was perceived.
"Into Darkness" still has the freshness of the last installment and can continue the character development. As a positive we’ll see a lot more of Uhura and her difficult relation with Spock.
The plot of the movie is simple. Kirk is till his rambunctious self and is still doing things his way, disobeying orders left and right. When the Earth is attacked by an earth born terrorist played convincingly by Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirk and Spock are tasked with finding and assassinating him via remote control.
A simple plan, however, Captain Kirk’s simply can’t follow orders and doesn't go for the simple approach. This will bring more repercussions than usual and will set the scene for a very entertaining and well thought out movie, with respectful nods to both the older version of "Star Trek" and to the TV series.
J.J. Abrams proves he’s got one of the best eyes for special effects and 3D in Hollywood yet again with "Star Trek Into Darkness" while also bringing some very entertaining fight sequences to the table.
