Starters For NBA All-Star Weekend Revealed
The 2013 NBA All-Star Weekend is set to be held from February 15 to February 17 in Houston. The NBA recently revealed that starters for the East and the West, who received the most number of votes from fans all over the world.
Kobe Bryant led all players as he received 1,591,437 votes, which was slightly higher than the votes garnered by LeBron James, making him the most popular player at the upcoming NBA All-Star Weekend. Although analysts have indicated that James is the best player for the moment, the offensive game of Bryant was considered as among the best in recent years.
This year will be the 15th All-Star Weekend of Bryant in his 17 seasons in the NBA.
Aside from Bryant, Chris Paul will also be starting for the Western Conference team together with Blake Griffin, Kevin Durant, and Dwight Howard. Earlier reports raised the possibility that Jeremy Lin will make the starting lineup for the Western Conference team at the NBA All-Star Weekend. However, he fell short of copping a spot in the starting lineup.
Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo, and Dwyane Wade will join James in the staring lineup of the Eastern Conference team during their game at NBA All-Star Weekend. The voting this year was changed from letting the fans vote for a pair of forwards and one center to three frontcourt players.
The team selection of fans for the starting lineup at the NBA All-Star Weekend was considered great by observers. Tyson Chandler may also be considered as a good replacement for Garnett in the Eastern Conference team. On the other hand, it was odd to have two Lakers in the staring lineup of the Western Conference team during the NBA All-Star Weekend especially since the team has been struggling since the start of the season.
However, the starting lineup is based on fan voting, which has been considered good enough for the both the Western and Eastern Conference teams for their upcoming game during the NBA All-Star Weekend.
