Stone Temple Pilots Singer Scott Weiland Fired
Stone Temple Pilots have announced via their publicist Kymm Britton that they have “officially terminated” lead singer’s Scott Weiland’s contract.
No other information or statement has been made as of yet by the band, however, Scott seemed quite confused before he responded.
In a statement made to Rolling Stone Magazine, Scott Weiland said that he isn't quite sure how he could be terminated as he is the founder of the band and co-writer to most of the Stone Temple Pilots’ hits.
He said that his lawyers will have to figure the answer to that question and that he is now concentrating on his new solo tour that starts this Friday, a tour he expects all his fans will attend.
The band had their debut album back in 1992. It was entitled “Core” and sold in excess of 8 million copies in the United States alone.
Some of their biggest hits include “Interstate Love Song”, “Vasoline” and “Plush” which earned the band a Grammy back in 1993 for best hard rock performance with vocal.
Weiland was also a member of “Velvet Revolver”, along with Slash and other remarkable musicians. The 45 year old singer has had a tumultuous life with many run ins with the law, a few failed marriages and a battle with drug addiction. Scott Weiland released his memoirs entitled “Not Dead And Not For Sale” in 2011.
