Taylor Swift Defends Miley Cyrus
Taylor Swift defended fellow singer Miley Cyrus in an interview given for a United Kingdom magazine. In the interview, Swift also addressed cheating, some of her deal-breakers and what it is like to date “outside” of Hollywood.
One of the biggest issues tackled in the interview is the one of how current young singers are considered role-models. The country singer says that people can deal with models that make mistakes. She also said that there is room for models that are made fun of at awards shows, even though that doesn't mean she necessarily likes being made fun of. She seemed to address both her very public problems involving Kanye West stepping all over her acceptance speech and Miley Cyrus’ recent controversial performance at this year’s VMA’s.
She apparently stood up for her fellow singer in what is basically a media assault on Miley. Swift continued to say that criticism can come at anytime from anywhere. It can come from “board meetings, school or Facebook”, and that everyone should be able to deal with the fact that they could be publicly humiliated at any time.
This wouldn't be the first time that Taylor Swift defended other women celebrities, saying that one of the best pieces of advice she ever got was about how there is a “special place in hell for women that don’t help other women”.
