Taylor Swift Wins Big At The Billboard Music Awards

One of the biggest winners during the recent Billboard music awards was Taylor Swift who copped eight awards including the top artist title. She received eleven nominations for during the awards, where she also copped the top Billboard 200 album award for her fourth album, Red.

Taylor Swift said that the crowd was her best and longest relationship.

Justin Bieber won the social artist, top male artist, and the milestone award, which is based on fan votes. He beat Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift for the milestone award.

While Bieber was accepting the milestone award, he hinted at the past weeks that have been turbulent for him. He said that he is doing a job being a 19-year-old. He indicated that the focus should be on the music that he is making. He added that he is an artist and he should be taken seriously.

The star performed twice on the show, once with will.i.am and a solo performance where he sang “Take You.”

Eleven nominations were also received by fun. and Maroon 5. Both ended up with one award each. Rihanna and Gotye received four awards each. The first award was given to Nicki Minaj, who won the top rap artist award over Flo Rida, Psy, Drake, and Pitbull. She said that the award was unexpected.

The dance artist, top touring artist and dance album award went to Madonna. She thanked the support that she received for the past three decades. The icon award was given to Prince, who closed out the Billboard Music Awards show.

Miguel also performed his second single, “Adorn,” where he seemed to hit a fan as he jumped over the audience. Nicki Minaj also performed at the show together with Lil Wayne. The biggest winner, Taylor Swift, also performed her hit “22" where she started at the backstage, moving towards the main stage of the show.
