Teddy Bridgewater Provides An Inspiration To The Vikings

The sprained left ankle did not stop Teddy Bridgewater from playing a vital role in the 41-28 win of the Minnesota Vikings over the Atlanta Falcons. The rookie quarterback left the game after a one-yard touchdown by Matt Asiata that allowed the Vikings to keep the lead for good.

Bridgewater provided the spark for the Vikings as he completed a total of 19 out of 30 passes for 317 yards. He also made a touchdown after scrambling for 13 yards. After an X-ray on the ankle Bridgewater was negative, he returned to the sidelines as the crowd chanted his name.

He became the new face of the Vikings franchise. Mike Zimmer, coach of the Vikings revealed that Bridgewater will have an MRI even as the player said he was fine.

The inspiration provided by Teddy Bridgewater for the team came amid the indictment of Adrian Peterson. The motivational message sent by the 2012 NFL MVP to Zimmer was read by the coach to the team before the start of the game. It inspired Matt Asiata, Jerick McKinnon and Jarius Wright.

After Atlanta stopped the short passing game of Minnesota in the second half, Bridgewater made a number of passes to Greg Jennings and Cordarrelle Patterson. Bridgewater said the text of Adrian inspired him to play the game like it was his last.

The arraignment of Peterson for injuring his son with a tree branch is set on October 8. The situation cast a shadow on the team that resulted to uncertainty about its future. However, the inspired game of Bridgewater gave the Vikings franchise a glimpse of its future.

Despite the notable game of Teddy Bridgewater, it was not perfect as he overthrew a pass to Wright in one instance during the game on Sunday. However, the defense called by Zimmer allowed the Vikings to set up a nine-play that resulted to a 78-yard advance

Since veteran quarterback Matt Cassel is out for the season due to a broken foot, the Vikings became the team of Bridgewater. Bridgewater revealed that he was not too concerned about his standing in the team despite his injury. He said his left wrist was injured at Louisville when he was a sophomore. However, Teddy Bridgewater led the win of his team against the Rutgers a couple of days later.
