The “Best Of” Guide Of Foursquare Revealed

Foursquare recently revealed its own “best of” guide. The guide was based on the three billion check-ins made by its members. It was also based on thousands of user likes, dislikes, and tips.

The top places where users check into in thirty cities around the United States last year are included on the “best of” guide of Foursquare.

The check-in social network revealed that it analyzed the check-ins of its users and assembled the list of places that were popular among the users. These were places that the users actually visited and check in through Foursquare. In comparison other similar lists were created by editors, food critics, and other people who felt strongly about a certain place.

Foursquare has over thirty million members, who have their own personal preferences and opinions on the places where they go for a drink and the museums they visit. They also have their own favorite parks where they can sit and watch life go by.

Foursquare said that the data they gathered show the uniqueness of every city. People in Philadelphia love a good sandwich and Portland is a haven for vegans. On the other hand, Boston people are enamored with seafood.

The social network has gradually morphed into an extensive location search engine, which will make it as a direct competitor to other websites that offer recommendations like Yelp.

Last November a ten-point scoring system was launched by the company. It also unveiled a new website last November, which can be accessed by nonmembers. The new website of Foursquare also features a search box that visitors can use.

The Android and iPhone applications for merchants were unveiled by Foursquare recently, which facilitates the presence of business owners on the social network.
