“The Big C” May Not Have A Typical Ending For Cathy Jamison

The last four-episodes of “The Big C” is set to be aired soon but it appears that it may not show the typical tearful ending for Cathy Jamison, who is played by Laura Linney. This was emphasized recently by the creators of the show.

Although the show has gone through irregular stretches as it illustrated the life of a woman suffering from cancer. The last four episodes, which will run for four hours, may run more smoothly.

Cathy has progressive melanoma and it appears that she may not recover from it. A number of twists have been seen in past episodes of the show. The last episode of the show is entitled “The Big C: Hereafter.” This may hint at the possibility that the ending may not be the customary ending for the show.

The confidence displayed by Linney in the role is giving indications that the show will have an unexpected ending. As the character Linney plays has allowed her life to be controlled by other people, the final decision at the end of the show may rest on her shoulders.

Although she might not end up doing everything right, there are some instances where she shows a deeper understanding of what will happen to her in the end. One scene on “The Big C” shows Cathy telling her husband, played by Oliver Platt, to prepare for his life after she is gone. The decisions that she made on the show were risky but these were still her decisions.

Aside from Linney and Platt, the show also stars Gabriel Basso, who plays the son of Cathy, and Gabourey Sidibe, who plays the role of Andrea.

Even as the audience understands that the end of the show may not be happy, they appear to look forward to it. This shows the level of achievement that “The Big C” was able to attain during its run.
