The recent downturn in the economy is worst for women with no education
Not too many years ago, it was very common for women to just be housewives who manage her home and children. As these young women were expected to marry and become housewives, it was unnecessary that they should invest in education. Why would they have it?
The men, on the other hand, were expected to throw themselves into work to support their family. It was therefore legitimate for men to educate themselves so they could get higher pay.
Today, the situation is different. In today's society, it is very difficult to manage on one salary. Doing so may be possible for a minority with a very high salary, but for most people, two salaries are needed to support a family.
But for women with inferior education, they get jobs with low wages. The men with good training get the best jobs, and the women are liable to low-wage occupations. Therefore, they have more difficulty contributing to the supply. The recent downturn in the economy makes it even harder.
To escape this, it is therefore very important that women look to educate themselves. Not to be left behind, they must strive to get into colleges and universities. With a college education behind them, they have a good chance of finding quality jobs and career opportunities.
