The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 conquers the globe

Over the weekend, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1” has accumulated $283.5 million in worldwide ticket sales. This supernatural love story released by Summit Entertainment has filled numerous theaters with passionate diehard fanatics, most of them were females.

In the United States and Canada, the movie has earned $139.5 million and ranked as the 5th movie with the biggest domestic opening in history. “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1” tells about Bella marrying vampire Edward and became pregnant. Stars for the movie were Kristen Stewart as human Bella Swan and Robert Pattinson as her vampire love, Edward Cullen. Taylor Lautner plays as Jacob Black, a werewolf who competes for Bella's affection.

Likewise, over the weekend “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1” has added $144 million in 54 countries. The movie cost at least $110 million to make.

However, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1” failed to top its previous domestic opening in 2009 which is the "Twilight: New Moon" that has debuted $142.8 million.  The Twilight Saga phenomenon has outshined all other movies like, Happy Feet 2, Immortals, Jack and Jill, Puss in Boots, and The Descendants.
