Tiger Woods Gets First Tournament Win After Extra-Marital Affairs Controversy

For the first time in more than two years, Tiger Woods has defeated Zach Johnson by winning the Chevron World Challenge Title on Sunday.

According to PGA Tour’s, Tiger Woods finished three strokes unde vr par for the day, this allowed Woods to leapfrog Johnson for the one-stroke win at the Sherwood Country Club.

The winning stroke is Tiger Wood’s first since capturing the Australian Masters title in November 2009. In the Chevron World Challenge, there were only 18 players, much fewer than traditional golf tournaments. However, according to the PGA Tour, Woods moved up 20 ranks in the Official World Golf Ranking with his latest win.

Between 1997 and 2010, Tiger Woods has reigned as No.1, until his career was halted by well-publicized reports of extra marital affairs that led to the end of his marriage. And for the first time in history, Tiger Woods dropped out of the world's top 50 in October.

According to source, PGA Tour's 2012 "regular season" schedule will officially begin in the first week of January 2012 at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions at Kapalua, Hawaii. In April, Tiger Woods will participate in another tournament, “The Masters” wherein he has already won 4 times.
