Tony Parker Of The San Antonio Spurs Has Hamstring Strain
This Wednesday may have worried some San Antonio Spurs fans with one of the best point guards in the NBA, Tony Parker, finding out after a visit to the MRII that he has a grade 1 hamstring strain.
Parker is still uncertain for San Antonio’s next game, the fourth of the NBA Finals that will be held in Miami.
Parker was injured this last Tuesday, when the Spurs beat Miami Heat by a score of 113 -77 in Game 3, gaining the lead in the series by a marginal 2-1 overall score.
The star point guard played only about one and a half minute in the fourth quarter with the game being basically won by the Spurs.
He knew right away that something was wrong after saying in a post-game interview on Tuesday that he “felt something” in his hamstring and that he played only a couple more minutes after consulting the team doctor because coach Popovich didn't want to take unnecessary risks.
Parker’s possible replacements are Gary Neal and Cory Joseph, both of whom saw a fair amount of play in Game 3. Neal managed to score 24 points while Cory Joseph had an impressive four assists and two steals.
Even if Tony Parker will be out for Game 4, it appears that the point guard position at the San Antonio Spurs is in good hands.
