Top 3 Best Naturally Preserved Beaches In The U.S.

A great beach isn’t reflected in the number of tourists, the water sport events that take place there or in the popularity the location has. Naturally preserved beaches offer stunning views and are able to connect their visitors with an often ignored ecosystem while, of course, offering a host of fun activities that are usually associated with beach culture. Here are three U.S. beaches you simply must check out:

Point Reyes National Seashore – California

Point Reyes National Seashore an immense 80 mile stretch of natural beach that boasts lush vegetation, stunning waterfalls and lovely glimpses of elk and other creatures. It is highly recommended to visit during winter as elephant seals can be easily spotted. The best part is that Point Reyes is located just a short drive from San Francisco.

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park – Hawaii

This natural park offers stunning views of some of the most extreme geological phenomenons on planet earth. The sight of lava rivers pouring into the ocean and forming new beach terrain almost instantly is unique to the small island of Hawaii. For tourists that want a room with a view the Volcano House Hotel comes highly recommended.

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore – Michigan

You don’t have to live next to an ocean to appreciate fantastic beaches as the Sleeping Bear Dunes show us. This lovely 35 mile stretch of natural beach offers two islands, sand bluffs that go as high as 450 feet as well as some fantastic shipwreck exploration possibilities.
