Top 3 Must See Museums To Check Out In 2014

If you've had your full of partying and spectacular sights while travelling in 2013, then start off the new year by approaching travel through a cultural lens. There are many options to check out but here are three of the most interesting.

Harvard Museum of Natural History – Cambridge, Massachusetts

Starting off with a classic, this university museum has gained a recent growth in popularity due to Leopold and Rudolph Blaschka, two German artists that created an impressive 3,200 glass flowers along with glass made marine animals that seem absolutely genuine.

Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum - Washington

While it boasts many interesting collections there is one that took a “on the spot” call by the last astronauts to set foot on the moon to disregard orders. The famous footprint on the lunar surface should have been left behind in order to lighten the load of the ship, however, thankfully we can all take a look at it today thanks to the call of those brave astronauts.

Lightner Museum – St. Augustine, Florida

This museum is based on its owner Otto Lightner’s belief that everyone should have a collection. So this hobbies magazine publisher turned museum owner decided to showcase collections from willing donors including shrunken heads and things of the sort.
