Top 3 Upcoming Wine Regions In The U.S.

California is synonymous with U.S. produced wine. With 90 percent of the wine production coming from the sun shine state, the official data seems to back up the cliché that if your drinking U.S. wine it probably comes from California.

Parts like Napa Valley, Sonoma and Santa Barbara are famous throughout the world for their quality grapes, however, new promising regions that produce some amazing wines are becoming more and more popular. Here is a list with some of the up and coming wine regions in the United States.

Yolo County

Located in the immediate vicinity of Napa County, Yolo County is a very rural region that contains significant walnut and almond orchards, some small cities and a huge number of growing vineyards. Most of the wineries here are family run businesses that create amazing wines at decent to quite affordable prices.

Coombsville

Although located very close to Napa Valley, Combsville, is an American Viticultural Area winery that creates amazing wines in the just about 20 wineries located there. With 2013 being one of the best years so far the Coombsville region surely has a bright future.

Amador County

Just 35 miles east of Sacramento, lays the hilly and rugged region of Amador County. With almost 40 wineries that all have as their main specialty Zinfandel, the region has a lot of growth potential especially as the amphitheaters and splendid caves create a tourist friendly destination.
