The month of January is anything but boring and has a wide array of events, worldwide, that could be considered simply unmissable.

The World Buskers Festival is the biggest outdoor festival in the world and is held in Christchurch, New Zeeland from the 17th of January to the 27th. You can find all manner of street performers from magicians to jugglers from musicians to comedians and more.

January 26th hosts the 35th Hot Air Balloon Festival in Switzerland. Learn all you ever wanted to know about hot air balloons while marveling at the night glow show, all set in the beautifully breathtaking Swiss Alps.

January also hosts the Japanese Basho from the 12th to the 27th. So if you like sumo wrestling then head of to Japan for this unique and unmissable event.

If you love exotic cuisine, especially Caribbean cuisine then don’t miss the Taste of Cayman Food & Wine Festival that takes place of January 26th in George Town, the biggest city on Grand Cayman.

For an unforgettably unique experience make sure you check out the Gasparilla Pirate Fest, that will take place in Tampa.  Starting with the 26th of January, you can see the Jose Gasparilla, the only fully rigged pirate ship in the world, and take partake in the Pirate Fest Street Festival all along the streets of Tampa.
